Under the sign of the Dante's Divine Commedia (one of the most representative works of the Italian and international literature), Florence becomes for some days (15th – 17th of november 2006) the city in which the American, Italian and Russian culture are compared. The event is promoted by Vieusseux Cabinet, American Embassy in Rome, Municipality of Florence, the Georgetown University, the New York University, the Syracuse University in Florence and the University of Moscow, Romualdo del Bianco Foundation, with the participation of Promo Florence Events and the support of VIVAHOTELS.
The plan previews the meeting of poets, translators, resercers and artists.
They all have contributed with their job, in various artistic languages, in the analisys of the Commedia. They talk about the interpretation of the Dantesque poetic universe. Three days of search in order to allow various cultures to converse through a series of manifestations, conferences, workshops and collaterals events. Between the speakers figures of the literary world, Dantists and resercers of the Commedia like the poets Edoardo Sanguineti, Robert Pinsky, Yusef Komunyakaa, Elena Schwarz, Olga Sedakova, Dante resercers like John Freccero and Pier Vincenzo Mengaldo, Mikhail Andreev.
Dante's Readings in various languages will be under the direction of Giancarlo Cauteruccio.
