CERTALDO (FI) - Who loves the ancient Greek myth of Odisseus? Yesterday at the “Classense Library” of Ravenna, tomorrow, saturdays 24th of june (9:30 pm), at Palazzo Pretorio, you can live the famuous drama for six voices drawn from the books vi-viii of the Odissea, promoted by National Agency G. Boccaccio, University of Cambridge, Common of Certaldo.
The subject: the pièce - that begins with the first encounter between Odisseus and Nausicaa and finishes with their simple and moving dismissal - has been adapted by Patrick Boyde, professor at University of Cambridge, from Odissea so as to create a short show, using exclusively the words of Omero.
The reading will happen in ancient Greek. It will be a reading dramatised with use of images and music. An an occasion for all those that have studied or study the language and the Greek culture, but also for the lovers of the show generally. “I invite to the show all gets passionate of the myth and of ancient Greece - Patrick Boyde says - it will be a culturally deep evening, but also light and amusing, an occasion in order to taste a great classic of the Mediterranean culture”.
